Derailment: Dhaka`s Rail Link With Northern Regions Snapped

A compartment of a Burimari Express train derailed early Thursday, causing a halt to the rail link between Dhaka and the northern regions of Bangladesh.

The derailment occurred two kilometers from Muladuli station area around 3:00am.

Shah Sufi Noor Mohammad, the Pakshi Divisional Railway Manager (DRM) of Western Railway, confirmed the matter.

He said that Burimari Express leaves from Lalmonirhat to Dhaka in time. Later, a compartment of the train derailed around 3:00pm due to technical glitch, snapping the rail communication between Dhaka and the northern regions.

A relief train is on the way from Ishwardi to savage the train, he added.
